Bayern Munich will face competition from Manchester United in the chase for Chelsea’s Christopher Nkunku in the winter market.

The Blues are keen on signing Red Devils’ Alejandro Garnacho and TyC Sports reported on Friday that they have made a formal offer for him.

Claims from the British press have said Manchester United are eyeing a move for Nkunku as Chelsea push to sign Garnacho.

This has reached Germany and Sky Deutschland provide the latest on Manchester United and their interest in Nkunku.

The France international has scored 13 goals and registered four assists from 28 games this season and it includes three starts in the Premier League. Bayern are looking to take him away from Chelsea and have reached a verbal agreement with him.

However, they cannot go ahead with operation until Mathys Tel leaves Bayern and he isn’t looking for a move elsewhere. This has allowed Manchester United to enter the race for the former RB Leipzig man.

Ruben Amorim’s side are in ‘direct contact’ with Chelsea for the 27-year-old. The two clubs have talked about a swap deal involving Nkunku and Garnacho, but haven’t taken a final decision yet.

Sky say ‘the poker is on’ and Manchester United have an opportunity to beat Bayern for Nkunku’s signature
