On July 13th, we covered claims made in the Dutch press that Nottingham Forest are in the picture to sign PSV Eindhoven’s Ibrahim Sangaré.
It was also stated the midfielder will change clubs this summer. This is now backed up by Eindhovens Dagblad, who say there’s still a ‘good chance’ for him to move to the Premier League.
Having registered their interest in the 25-year-old a few weeks ago, it’s said Nottingham Forest are still chasing him.
The Tricky Trees haven’t made an offer yet but the report states their interest is still very much there. In fact, they add there is ‘plenty of contact’ between Steve Cooper’s side and the Ivory Coast international’s agent.
ED explain that the player is also keen on making a jump to a bigger league, but as long as he remains at the Eredivisie side, he will ‘fully dedicate’ himself to the club.
According to the newspaper, Sangaré ‘must cost €37.5m’, which is the fee mentioned in his clause. ED suggest Nottingham Forest wouldn’t have an issue when it comes to paying this fee.
Therefore, Sangaré will have the ‘right to leave’ if Cooper’s side or another club were to offer €37.5m to PSV.
