On Friday, Correio da Manhã reported Sporting’s Marcus Edwards has already expressed his desire to join Tottenham Hotspur in the summer window.

The 25-year-old spent over a decade at Tottenham before moving to Vitória de Guimarães in 2019, and then to Sporting two years ago.

Recent claims in the UK have said Tottenham are keen on bringing him back to the club, Record relay that and then share their own information on this case.

The winger, who managed six goals and nine assists this season, saw his playing time restricted for most of 2024. That hasn’t put off interested parties, especially from England.

It’s claimed Tottenham seem to be keen on making an offer, due to the player’s ‘special connection’ with the north London club. The Portuguese champions, for their part, are willing to sell him for a fee between €20m and €30m.

Record points out the Premier League side hold 35% of the attacker’s rights, meaning it will be cheaper for Tottenham to sign him.

Edwards’ connection with his former club, his desire to return to England and Sporting’s willingness to sell him can help Spurs seal a deal in the next window.
