On Wednesday, Sevilla president Pepe Castro admitted his side are in talks with Aston Villa for Marcos Acuña’s transfer.
Later that day, TyC Sports stated the left-back has verbally agreed a deal with the Villans and could move to Villa Park in the next few days.
Today’s AS states Aston Villa are tempting the 31-year-old with a ‘juicy contract’ until 2026. However, they are not close to meeting the La Liga side’s demand of €12-15m.
Earlier claims indicated that Unai Emery’s side have offered €5m plus €2m in bonuses and that was rejected by the Europa League winners. This is relayed by ABC Sevilla, who then provide more on this case.
It’s said Aston Villa raised their offer to between €10m and €12m, which could be accepted by Sevilla. Therefore, the newspaper says he could leave the Andalusian club to join the Premier League side in the ‘next few hours’.
Journalist César Luis Merlo took to Twitter to state the Argentina international ‘will play for Aston Villa’.
The World Cup winner has already reached an agreement with Emery’s side for a contract until 2026. He adds that Sevilla are aware Acuña’s transfer to Aston Villa is ‘imminent’.
