Jurriën Timber’s girlfriend is “looking for a house in Liverpool” ahead of a potential move from Ajax this summer.
That’s according to journalist Wilfred Genee, who has claimed the Ajax defender’s partner is already planning ahead of a move to Anfield.
Timber has established himself as one of the best young defenders in European football in recent years with Ajax, establishing himself in their defence and shining under Erik ten Hag in particular.
He’s thus been linked with a big money move for the best part of the last year, with Manchester United thought to be keen on him last summer.
That move didn’t happen as Timber preferred to stay in the Eredivisie and continue his development, but he has admitted he will look at his future again this summer.
Liverpool are believed to be in the hunt for a new centre back, with that area of the pitch a problem one this year and Ibrahima Konaté yet to fully work out.
They’ve not been linked to Timber as such but, interestingly he was praised by Virgil van Dijk in September last year.
Now, at least according to Genee, a transfer could be on the cards, with him claiming the player’s girlfriend is doing the ground work.
“Timber’s girlfriend seems to already be looking for a house in Liverpool, so he is probably going to leave as well,” he said on Veronica Offside, relayed by MSN.
“I think Timber is a really good defender. But he loses every head duel and in England that will be his downfall. Martínez can still jump and rises above everything,” added Wesley Sneijder.
