If Carlo Ancelotti’s debut as Brazil manager this week was a chance for Tottenham’s Richarlison to impress, he didn’t take the opportunity.

That’s at least according to GE Globo, who report how he was given a 1.6/10 by national team fans for his performance against Ecuador. That was the lowest in the entire national team.

They have a list of rankings for the players that featured in Ancelotti’s debut this week, a 0-0 draw against Ecuador.

The Tottenham forward was handed the number 9 role up front in that game, being trusted by the man who worked with him at Everton and brought him back for this game.

Instead, he completely failed to take the opportunity. With GE rating him 4.5 but the national team fans ranking him just 1.6/10.

They said he showed lots of effort and movement but ‘little productivity’. According to the newspaper it was a performance full of ‘many technical mistakes’. He also wasted a good chance created by Vinicius Junior.

It continued a poor run for him in a Brazil shirt, which has seen the Tottenham striker go without a goal for his country since the knockout stages of the 2022 World Cup. That’s eight games.

Clearly Brazilian fans are now less than impressed, although it remains to be seen if Ancelotti feels the same way.
