Everton appear to be leading the race for Udinese striker Beto this summer, although they will need to spend €35m to sign him.
That’s according to Mondo Udinese, who say it is almost a given that Beto will be departing the Italian club this summer.
They explain that Beto’s future is ‘under observation’ as there are clubs in Italy and England who seem determined to sign him.
He appears to be on a ‘paved road’ away from Udinese and at the moment that road seems to be ‘leading to Everton’, although a big offer could arrive from Napoli.
Both sides will need €35m to secure his signature if they are as keen as it’s believed they are, and Udinese do not intend to offer any discounts on that front.
Whether Everton can afford to satisfy them, then, remains to be seen given the very public state of their finances at present.
A deal for the striker only seems possible if Udinese are willing to take that €35m in payments or want the whole fee paid upfront, which would be their right.
That’s for Everton to work out in negotiations but it seems the belief in Italy at this moment in time is that they are at the front of the queue for Beto’s signature.
