Gavi broke into Barcelona’s first team at the start of the season when Ronald Koeman was in charge at the Camp Nou, and has continued to retain his place after Xavi Hernández was appointed as the Dutchman’s successor last November.
The midfielder’s performances have not only convinced the La Liga side’s current manager, but also caught the attention of other clubs.
Liverpool are among them and their interest has been regularly discussed in the Spanish media over the course of this campaign.
Two months ago, Marca stated the Reds have taken an interest in him. On February 7th, we covered claims made by Mundo Deportivo that explained Jürgen Klopp is insisting his side sign the Spain international.
Gavi’s current deal expires in 2023 and it includes a €50m release clause. Xavi Hernández’s side are trying to extend his contract and a latest report from Marca on Tuesday explains there is ‘no news’ on this front.
Another Spanish newspaper, Mundo Deportivo, also states Liverpool are among the big clubs looking at Gavi. 
It’s explained the player’s ‘explosion’ with both Barcelona and La Roja, coupled with the €50m release clause, ‘invite the big clubs to tempt him’.
Liverpool are not alone as Mundo adds Chelsea, Manchester United and Bayern Munich are showing interest in Gavi.
