Pierre Emerick Aubameyang’s move from Chelsea back to Barcelona is ‘taking shape’ with him already giving his okay to the switch and a ‘substantial’ reduction in his wages.

That’s according to Sport, who say Barcelona manager Xavi has already sanctioned the transfer and thus the Catalans are working on making it happen.

According to the newspaper’s information, Barcelona are ‘looking for formulas’ so that they can re-sign Aubameyang from Chelsea on a free and the striker is convinced he will be able to make that happen.

Talks between the Chelsea striker and Barcelona already began in January, when they tried to make a transfer happen that month. That was made impossible by La Liga regulations.

The dialogue remained open between the two parties, though, and Aubameyang has been keeping in touch with Xavi and his former teammates.

His decision has already been made, if the option to return to Barcelona is there, they he will ‘do everything’ to make it happen.

Work on that front has got underway in recent days to understand the possible numbers of the operation and Aubameyang has made it clear he is in a position to make a ‘significant effort’ in terms of reducing his wages to ease that particular problem.

Barcelona have made it clear they can only offer a low salary and a short contract, but the striker is willing to accept both just to ‘get out of’ Chelsea.

For now, Chelsea are demanding a ‘minimum transfer’ for Aubameyang to return to Barcelona.
