Athletic Club Bilbao star Nico Williams has again committed his future to the club, with the player’s camp sending a clear message to Aston Villa and any other potential suitors today.

Those celebrations will be enjoyed by all after the Spanish side won their first major trophy in 40 years, but the reality is that they will have to be put to one side quickly as there are other pressing matters to be dealt with.
He has made it clear he wants to remain where is and play for the club in Europe, and reiterated that stance before attending celebrations today, but the reality is that the suitors, such as Aston Villa, are lining up.
This is something he and his entourage are aware of, although the latter have made it clear that their plan does not involve leaving for Villa Park or anywhere else.
They’ve drawn up a roadmap for the player alongside his family and the first stage of that is playing in Europe with Athletic next season, and potentially helping the club qualify for the Champions League too.
He is in no rush to leave the club and both he and his team are taking the situation day by day and have ‘practically assured’ he will be staying where he is next season.
Thus, Aston Villa and any other suitors would be best spending their efforts elsewhere as unless there is a major change in the plan laid out, Williams won’t be going anywhere.
