Nottingham Forest are yet to reach an agreement with Fenerbahce for striker Michy Batshuayi, with the player’s agent having departed England for Paris.
That’s according to journalist Yağız Sabuncuoğlu, who says the two clubs ‘could not reach an agreement’ yet and Batshuayi is waiting for news from Miltiadis Marinakis, the son of Nottingham Forest owner Evangelos Marinakis.
Forest have been linked with a surprise move for Batshuayi throughout this week, with them seemingly pushing to add more firepower to Steve Cooper’s forward line despite Taiwo Awoniyi’s impressive goalscoring form.
A report on the 29th indicated that they were close to striking an agreement with Fenerbahce for his signature, but Sabuncuoğlu insists that is yet to happen.
He states that while the player’s representative is ‘working hard’ to get a deal done with Nottingham Forest, they’re yet to strike an agreement with Fenerbahce.
That’s seemingly led him to depart for France, Paris to be exact, for the time being, an indication that a deal is not close as ordinarily he would stay in London and meet Batshuayi there so he could undergo a medical in the capital.
At the moment, though, a deal has not been struck between the two clubs, with a deal worth around €9m in total being discussed according to Sabuncuoğlu.
They’re yet to finalise or agree on that and so Batshuayi and his representatives are currently in a holding position, awaiting news from Miltiadis Marinakis.
