Spending last summer on loan at Espanyol and with just one year left on his Fiorentina deal, this summer is the last chance for the Serie A side to make some money back on Carlos Sanchez.
Bought for less than £3m from Aston Villa in 2017, the Colombia international is allegedly a target for West Ham, whose negotiations to sign the 31-year-old were rekindled on Wednesday morning.
This is what Alfredo Pedulla is reporting, claiming the player’s agent is now ‘expected in London’ to get the deal over the line.
The nature of the transfer isn’t specified, but we doubt it’ll be a dry loan with one year left on his deal, so our guess is either a straight move or a loan with a view to buy.
Expected to go the other way is Edimilson Fernandes, who is reportedly on the verge of a loan move to Fiorentina for €900k and an option to purchase him for €8m later on in the season.
Pedulla explains the Switzerland international was the Italian club’s preferred option, having also been offered the chance to sign Pedro Obiang.
