It’s now time for the Brazilian media to bring some updates on Wolverhampton Wanderers’ chase for Matheus Cunha.
According to UOL, the player himself is ‘working hard’ to be sold by Atletico Madrid in January, with the club also interested in making the transfer.
The report claims Wolves are the ‘main interested’ side, with negotiations already underway. It’s just not made clear how much the deal would be made for, as the story only points out the striker currently has a ‘valuation’ of €50m, which we all know will not be his sale price.
UOL says that the ‘likely’ move to the Premier League is seen as ‘decisive’ for Matheus Cunha to get a new chance at the national team going forward.
The striker had been considered to be in Brazil’s squad for the World Cup, but ended up staying out of the list, much to his disappointment.
The 23-year-old has been of little use for Atletico Madrid this season, with Diego Simeone only giving him 17 appearances, only two of which have been starts.
The Spanish press has already claimed there are advanced talks for his move to Wolves, and it’s now interesting to see the Brazilian media saying the player wants the transfer as well.
