Tottenham signing Ivan Perisic has been hailed as a “force of nature” by a man who came up against him and was left more than impressed.

The Croatian star joined Tottenham on a free transfer in the summer after becoming a free agent following a three-year spell with Inter Milan.

The move saw him reunite with Antonio Conte in London, having worked with the Italian during his stint in charge of Inter and become a key player under his leadership.

He’s retained that status at Tottenham, starting 60% of their games in the Premier League and 83% of their Champions League fixtures, registering four assists and three assists in the two competitions.

The move to England is the latest step in a varied career for the 33-year-old that has seen him turn out for Borussia Dortmund, Wolfsburg, Inter and Bayern Munich as well.

He has been a star at all of those clubs and one man who came up against him, Alessandro Patacchini, was left extremely impressed by their encounter.

“Ivan Perisic is unquestionably the strongest player I have played with, a force of nature,” he told Football News 24.

“Speaking of opponents instead I would mention Dejan Kulusevski of Tottenham and Moise Kean of Juventus.

“Against the former I played a Scudetto final in Cesena in 2017, which we won, while the latter I faced several times and also played against outside of the football context.”
