It appears that Arthur is very keen on joining Arsenal in the January transfer window, with it claimed he doesn’t want to go anywhere else.
That’s TuttoMercatoWeb who are pushing the story on Thursday afternoon, claiming the Gunners ‘want to try and treat themselves to the former Barcelona midfielder’ in the current transfer window.
Mikel Arteta ‘directly asked’ for him, as he ‘intends to entrust him with a key role in his midfield’ and it’s believed Arthur ‘would have already said yes’.
It’s reported that ‘after the contacts in the last few hours’, the player is ‘increasingly convinced’: basically, if he leaves his current club this month, ‘he will only do it to wear the Arsenal shirt’.
While clubs in Germany and Spain have come forward, it seems he’s made his mind up, and only wants to go to London.
Now it’s up to the clubs to find an agreement, with the first offer already come through: ‘a dry loan until the end of the season with wages entirely at their own expense’.
However, Max Allegri ‘has not yet given the green light for the sale’, because he can ‘only be let go if a replacement arrives first’.
Despite this, he’s not ‘considered non-transferable’, meaning that ‘the negotiations could therefore come to life in the next few days’.
