As the Brazilian media backs up the initial reports about Danilo’s transfer from Palmeiras to Nottingham Forest, some details about that move are now revealed.
Journalist Jorge Nicola comes up with a story which shows all numbers involved in this operation.
That starts with Nottingham Forest initially spending €18m on the signing. Then there’s a bonus, with the Reds paying other €2m, in case Danilo features in 60% of their matches during a specific period.
Last year, Palmeiras’ stance on the midfielder had been firmer, with club president Leila Pereira saying they would not let him go for less than €30m.
They’ve clearly changed their mind now, and still try to make that deal more profitable.
According to the report, they’re planning to do that by getting a percentage from Cajazeiras, the player’s former club, who are initially having 20% of the transfer.
Regarding Danilo’s option for Nottingham Forest, as he also had an offer for Monaco which could even give Palmeiras another player in exchange, Nicola claims it was really the midfielder who chose to join his former teammate Gustavo Scarpa at the City Ground.
There are also some details about the midfielder’s salary with the Reds. It’s said he used to make around R$200k (£32k) a month at Palmeiras and will now receive R$800k (£128k) a month at Forest.
According to Nicola, the clubs found a deal for the transfer on Thursday afternoon. Now only the ‘bureaucratic part’ is missing, such as ‘medical, contract exchanges and signature’.
