It looks like a matter of time until Norwich City announce the signing of Sydney van Hooijdonk from Bologna.
According to Italian journalist Gianluca Di Marzio, the striker has now ‘left the city’, as there’s a ‘done’ deal for his to join the Championship side.
Van Hooijdonk is expected to sign for Norwich City on an initial loan deal, with the right for redemption at the end of the season.
For now, there’s no information on how much the Canaries would have to spend to make his move permanent.
The striker had just returned to Bologna from a loan at Heerenveen last summer. In his months back in Italy, he scored one goal in 11 appearances, and rarely got chances to start there.
It now remains to be seen whether Van Hooijdonk will have an impressive few months at Norwich City to convince them to make his purchase at the end of the season.
He’s currently valued by Transfermarkt at €5m, and the Italian media should soon come up with more details of the agreement between the clubs.
