Atlético Madrid striker Matheus Cunha is already on his way to complete his transfer to Wolverhampton Wanderers, according to claims from the Spanish media.
Mundo Deportivo writes that following the agreement between the clubs, the player has ‘travelled to England’ to have his medical ahead of the move.
It’s claimed the examinations are scheduled for today, with the player soon being clear to complete the switch.
As previously reported, Cunha is expected to join Wolves on loan with an obligatory buying option, with the Premier League side spending as much as €50m on the purchase next summer. From that amount, his former club Hertha Berlin are expected to get 10%.
Atlético Madrid hadn’t been making much use of the striker this season, as he only had 510 minutes played in 17 appearances, and couldn’t even manage to score a goal.
Mundo Deportivo writes that after the Colchoneros decided he’d be negotiated, they even took him out of their training sessions. It’s said that as Cunha waited for Wolves to reach the agreement for his signing, he spent ‘several days’ without working with Atlético Madrid’s squad.
