Three days ago, Villarreal announced they have completed the signing of Gonçalo Guedes on a loan deal from Wolverhampton Wanderers.
The Portuguese forward won’t be the only Wolves player to join the La Liga side in the winter market.
Wolves’ Yerson Mosquera is set to make a switch to Villarreal, according to today’s Marca and AS.
The centre-back has returned to Molineux after spending last year on loan at MLS side FC Cincinnati. Marca explain that he’ll leave the Premier League side and join the Yellow Submarine on a loan deal until the end of this season.
Over at AS, they state the Spanish club have a ‘verbal agreement’ in place with Gary O’Neil’s side for the Colombia international’s transfer.
It’s claimed this operation was ‘conceived’ when Villarreal were negotiating with Wolves for Guedes.
The South American’s arrival should help the Villarreal manager have ‘muscle and speed’ in his side’s backline until the end of this season.
AS add the defender’s move to Villarreal should be closed ‘this week’.
Mosquera’s contract at Wolves lasts until 2026.
