In the past few days, the Italian press has seemed confident about Napoli’s move for Kevin de Bruyne but Liverpool continued being mentioned as contenders for the Belgian.
Gianluca di Marzio initially reported that the Reds had made an offer for De Bruyne and a new development has emerged in that regard.
Il Mattino, as relayed by CalcioNapoli1926, have reported that the Citizens’ star is ‘tempted by an offer’ from Liverpool and is seriously considering the approach made by Arne Slot’s side.
De Bruyne is currently having conversations with his wife regarding his next career choice.
One reason for Napoli’s optimism is the fact that the couple got married in the area eight years ago and Partenopei legend Dries Mertens was their host.
At the same time, the 33-year-old feels that joining Liverpool would give him another season in the Premier League and after that, he could move to MLS or Saudi Arabia.
Details of the Anfield club’s offer aren’t known but Napoli have put a two-year contract on the table and are awaiting De Bruyne’s final decision.
