Adil Aouchiche’s immediate future seems to be away from Sunderland, according to a report on Monday.

The Black Cats signed the 22-year-old from FC Lorient in September 2023 and offered him a five-year deal.

Aouchiche clocked in less than 1,100 minutes from 28 matches in all competitions, of which the majority of them came off the bench. He made only one substitute appearance in the league this season.

Régis Le Bris left him out of the squad in Sunderland’s win over Burnley at the weekend.

According to DZ Foot, the Frenchman isn’t pleased with his situation at the Stadium of Light.

Régis Le Bris has previously managed the player at Lorient, but the latter didn’t get along very well with the manager at Sunderland. Therefore, he ‘should leave’ the English club before the window closes.

There’s no mention of where he could move next, but it’s claimed Aouchiche is looking for a new project that will allow him to ‘truly flourish’.

Aouchiche and his camp have to act quickly as they don’t have a lot of time to find a club with a convincing project.
