Ajax defender Calvin Bassey is now just one step away from signing for Fulham, according to reports from the Netherlands.
Outlet Voetbal International today writes that only the medicals are now keeping the 23-year-old from becoming the Craven Cottage side’s newest player.
It’s said Bassei will ‘definitely’ leave Ajax for Fulham following an agreement worth €21m plus the percentage of a future sale.
The deal between the clubs was reached on Saturday, but there were still doubts regarding him accepting the move, as he had ‘reservations’ about joining a mid-table club.
Now Voetbal International says all details between Fulham and Bassey have been ‘ironed out’, and he’s ready to have his medical and sign a ‘multi-year contract’.
The player seems ready to fly to London, as the report claims he did not join Ajax’s squad which travelled to Germany for the next pre-season matches.
Bassey started his career in England, having played for Leicester City’s academy until 2020. Then he moved to Rangers, and was bought by Ajax in 2022 for €23m. He leaves the Eredivisie giants with 39 appearances in his first season.
