Nathan Ngoy is one step away from signing for Luton Town, with only a medical left to do before he arrives at Kenilworth Road.
That’s according to journalist Bob Faesen who reports that the centre-back is on the verge of a €5m move form Standard Liege.
Luton have been busy this summer after relegation from the Premier League last season saw several players move on from Rob Edwards’ squad.
Five new faces have already arrived to bolster the squad to replace the likes of Ross Barkley, Ryan Giles and Gabriel Osho and Faesen reports Ngoy could be set to become the sixth.
According to his information the 21-year-old ‘can almost call himself’ a Luton Town player as they have an agreement in place with Liege.
That deal will be worth €5m plus a percentage on a future sale and is set to be completed once Ngoy has passed a medical examination.
There’s no mention of when that medical will happen but with an agreement in place, it is presumably booked in, or perhaps even already underway.
Once done, Ngoy will be just the second player Luton have spent money on this summer, with all their deals so far apart from the €11.7m deal for Mark McGuinness free transfers or loans.
