At the end of the January transfer window, we all saw the late drama involving Leicester City and Inter Milan midfielder Stefano Sensi.
The player was believed to be one step away from joining the Foxes, and according to the Italian media, the Championship side asked for some last-minute changes in the cost of the operation.
The situation was never really made clear, and Calcio Mercato today features a story which might be of interest to Leicester City fans.
Even though Sensi hasn’t played a single minute for Inter Milan this year, the outlet reveals that he’s had to undergo surgery which will keep him out for about a month.
It’s said this operation has been planned for some time, as he needed to remove a plate placed back in November 2022, when he had an ankle fracture.
Now even though Inter Milan haven’t used him in a long time, it’s said they ‘hope’ he’ll be available for the second leg of the Champions League’s round-of-16.
Sensi’s contract with the club expires in the summer, and Calcio Mercato insists that the most likely destination for him continues to be Leicester City. This time, though, without a pending surgery which will sideline him.
