Brighton & Hove Albion’s Kacper Kozłowski has told WP SportoweFakty that he’ll find out about the Premier League side’s plans for him when he returns to The Amex this summer.

The 19-year-old hasn’t yet made his debut for the Seagulls since joining them in January 2022.

Brighton let him spend the second half of last season on loan at Union Saint-Gilloise before sanctioning another loan move to Vitesse last summer. Operating on the wings and as a midfielder, he managed three goals and five assists for the Dutch club.

The Poland international believes he had a successful loan spell with the Eredivisie side last season.

“I’ve had a very successful year. At a young age, regular performances are the most important, which automatically guarantee great development,” he said.

“I played regularly for Vitesse, in a good league, and I’m happy with that. I felt very good in the Netherlands, I liked the environment, I felt a nice atmosphere in the stadiums. And the very specificity of the game in the Eredivisie suited me: forward, with the ball at my feet.”

Earlier this month, the versatile player admitted he’s open to returning to Vitesse next season. There has been a change in his stance as he now hopes to find his way into Roberto De Zerbi’s plans at Brighton.

When asked ‘what’s next’ by the Polish outlet, Kozłowski explained: “I’m definitely going back to Brighton for pre-season and after training in England a decision will be made.

“Moving every six months is difficult because you pack your bags and you don’t know where you’re coming back to. Besides, it is impossible to get used to one place in such a short time. I’d rather stay longer at one club and hopefully it’ll be Brighton.

“In the Netherlands, my performances were monitored by a club employee and reported to the coaches. If I do not manage to break through in England, I will choose such a direction to be able to develop further.”

With a contract until 2026, De Zerbi and Brighton will have to make a decision on whether to include Kozłowski in their plans next season.
