Earlier today, Cumhuriyet stated Wout Weghorst is aiming to seal a move to Manchester United soon so that he could be available for selection to face Manchester City on January 14th.

The striker, who is on loan at Beşiktaş from Burnley, was waiting for the Black Eagles to cut short his temporary stay at the club.

According to NTV, Beşiktaş and the 30-year-old have reached an agreement to cut short his loan deal. It’s said the two parties have ‘officially parted ways’ and he is expected to sign for Manchester United ‘shortly’.

This claim is also echoed by NTV Spor, who further add the Netherlands international will leave Istanbul today.

Beşiktaş will take on Konyaspor on Saturday and Aspor journalist Sercan Dikme claims the Dutchman will not be part of the squad. He adds Weghorst is collecting his belongings before leaving Turkey for England to join Erik ten Hag’s side.

Another Turkish journalist, Serdar Sarıdağ, is now reporting Weghorst is ‘saying goodbye’ to Beşiktaş officials.

With multiple claims from Turkey indicating Beşiktaş have terminated the frontman’s loan contract, his move to Manchester United now seems to be edging closer.
