Back in February, Brighton & Hove Albion came close to securing an agreement with Brøndby IF for Clement Bischoff to arrive at The Amex in the summer.

The 19-year-old made a trip to the UK to undergo medical tests with the Seagulls. As per an earlier report frolf Tipsbladet, the move collapsed due to a last-minute disagreement between the two parties.

On March 28th, the left-back insisted he was extremely disappointed after a dream move to Brighton didn’t go through.

Last week, Brøndby IF sporting director Benjamin Schmedes stated Bischoff has to find a way to overcome the Brighton disappointment. He is well aware it isn’t easy but believes there’s plenty of time for the player to put this chapter behind him.

On Monday, the Denmark U21 international started in his side’s 4-3 win over Randers FC. After the tie, he spoke to TV2 Sport, where he confirmed that talks are ongoing with Brøndby for his renewal.

“Yes, there is dialogue. It’s hard to say [what he thinks], but we have a good dialogue with Brøndby, and then we’ll have to see what happens. Right now, I’m concentrating on winning something with Brøndby, and then I’ll let my agents talk to Brøndby,” he said.

“Yes, I can see myself continuing. It’s a fantastic club, and I’ve played here since the Masterclass [U13s to Superliga]. I love it here, and it would be great to get into a European group stage. It’s exciting when you talk about it.”

Bischoff has over 14 months left on his contract. The renewal will help him secure his medium-term future at Brøndby, after the failed move to Brighton.
