Isco remains ‘in Everton’s sights’ but the Blues will face competition from AS Roma for the Spaniard’s signature.
That’s according to Sport Italia, relaying information from Sport Mediaset, who say that the midfielder has emerged as a late target for the Serie A club.
Isco has been linked with a move to Everton since the end of the January transfer window, when the Toffees failed to sign a single player despite an acceptance, they needed additions.
The feeling has been that he would welcome a move to Goodison Park if it was offered, and that he could add the type of creativity that is currently missing from Sean Dyche’s squad.
The Toffees are yet to make any formal bid, though, and the former Real Madrid and Sevilla man has instead been linked with a move to Roma.
Roma are showing a late interest and their sporting director is ‘likely’ to try and intervene.
The big problem is the Spaniard’s salary demands, which are seemingly too high for the Italian side and their strict budget. The player is ‘also in Everton’s sights’ according to them but it’s unclear if they’re expected to make a move.
Either way, as far as they’re concerned in Italy, Dyche and co are still in the mix for Isco’s signature as he looks to find himself a new club as soon as possible.
