On Monday, Sport stated Barcelona have received a formal offer from Manchester United to sign Marcos Alonso on a loan deal.
Later that day, Marca reported the Red Devils want to take the left-back on loan and then offer him a one-year deal, when his contract at the Camp Nou expires in 2024.
The latest report from Marca today relays that and then provides an update.

The Spaniard is aware Alejandro Balde is ahead of him in the pecking order but believes he can have more game time following Jordi Alba’s departure.
Marca say Erik ten Hag’s side made a formal offer on Monday but the former Chelsea man doesn’t want to join Manchester United ‘right now’. His desire is to stay at Barca but the newspaper warns his continuity can’t be taken for granted.
Luke Shaw has joined Tyrell Malacia in Carrington’s treatment room, leaving Manchester United to look for a new left-back late in the window.
Alonso could reject the English club at the last minute as his desire is to stay at Barca, and this would force the Red Devils to look at other options in the market.
