Nicolò Zaniolo’s future is expected to be away from Aston Villa after this season.
That’s according to Turkey’s Akşam, who add the winger and the Villans are looking to part ways in the next window.
Last summer, Aston Villa signed the 24-year-old from Galatasaray on a loan deal with an obligation to buy if certain conditions are fulfilled.
The Italy international has scored two goals from 27 matches this season. Unai Emery hasn’t favoured him in recent weeks and Zaniolo has been restricted to 62 minutes of action from six games in 2024 so far.
On Monday, Aston Villa confirmed Leon Bailey has signed a new deal. His renewal may be an indication that Emery could continue to favour the Jamaican over the former AS Roma man in the coming months.
Akşam state Zaniolo ‘couldn’t meet expectations’ and is ‘preparing to leave’ the Premier League side at the end of this season. They further add Aston Villa have ‘decided’ against making his stay permanent.
Earlier this month, TuttoMercatoWeb reported AC Milan, Napoli and Fiorentina are looking at him. This is relayed by Akşam, who then add Galatasaray are expected to cut ties with the player if he returns from his loan spell from Aston Villa in the summer.
