Claims are building in the Italian media about the current difficult relationship between Paulo Dybala and his club Juventus.
The Argentina international’s contract with the Turin side expires in the summer, and the chance of free-agent status is growing for the player.
Corriere dello Sport report the two parties are in a ‘crisis’ period after spending years together.
As part of the report, the Italian newspaper points out one thing has been ‘certain’ in recent years, and that’s Dybala being ‘practically sold’ to Manchester United before the deal collapsed.
Fans of the Red Devils will likely remember that time, and Corriere say the deal was so advanced that Dybala even recorded a goodbye video for his Juventus teammates, ahead of what he thought was a move to Manchester United.
That failed, and there’s since been doubts over whether his decision to stay has been the correct one.
The chances of a renewal are now ‘reduced’ compared to what they once were, so a free transfer is looking increasingly possible.
Manchester United are expected to lose a number of forwards in the summer, with Anthony Martial on loan at Sevilla, Edinson Cavani seeing his contract expire, and doubts building over Cristiano Ronaldo.
The Dybala track may well return to where it once was.
