On Saturday, we covered claims from Calciomercato that West Ham are keen on signing Gerard Deulofeu from Udinese in the summer window.

The brief Italian report stated the Hammers are ready to sign the former Barcelona player, and that contacts are ‘concrete’ with David Moyes’ side for the move to happen.

Those were pretty big West Ham claims, and it’s intriguing to see that Calciomercato put out more Deulofeu news just hours later.

The Italian website dragged Fiorentina and Marseille into the picture for the Udinese attacker, and that’s a lot of news in one day on a player who hadn’t really been in the rumour mill much.

The 27-year-old has a contract with Udinese which expires at the end of June, 2024. Such rapid claims coming together, and from the same source, would suggest that agents are at work, trying to hype the idea of interest in the player.

Whether that’s because he wants a move, or is instead keen on a Udinese renewal, isn’t clear, but there’s likely to be more claims in the coming days.
