Tottenham Hotspur have identified Leicester City’s Wout Faes as a target, according to journalist Sacha Tavolieri.

Eric Dier hasn’t featured for Spurs this season and with a deal expiring in 2024, he could leave the north London club before the window closes on Friday.

Faced with this possibility, Tavolieri says Tottenham are ‘already seeking’ several options in the market and their list includes the Leicester player.

The journalist says the centre-back’s profile is ‘appreciated’ by the Premier League side’s leaders and that’s all he mentions about Faes in the tweet.

For now, Tottenham haven’t taken the necessary steps to sign the Belgium international and if they do, they may find it difficult to land him due to Leicester’s stance.

La Dernière Heure state the defender is likelier to continue with the Championship side since no club ‘seems ready to meet’ their demands.

This isn’t ideal for Faes as the outlet suggests he needs to play in the top division to improve his chances of representing his country at Euro 2024.

Leicester signed the Belgian from Stade de Reims in 2022 and he was a regular for the Foxes [39 matches] last season, where they were relegated from the Premier League.

He’s not been a standout defender in England since his arrival and a move to Tottenham would be very fortunate for him. Given these claims come from Belgium, there’s the chance it’s all an effort to hype his level.
