Multiple claims over the past week, with many of those claims coming from Germany, have made it clear Liverpool are seriously in the picture to sign Florian Wirtz from Bayer Leverkusen.
Bayern Munich had long been thought of as the German international’s eventual destination, with Manchester City also getting a mention on occasion. Then Wirtz and his parents made a trip to the UK, taking a private jet to Blackpool where they had talks with Liverpool officials.
Those talks are thought to have gone well, and it was reported in Germany today that Bayern Munich were going to give it one last go to convince Wirtz to decide in their favour.
Sacha Tavolieri now pushes everything further along and claims the Bayer Leverkusen star is now ‘one step away’ from Liverpool. He’s said to have informed Bayern Munich directors that he’s chosen Anfield, and will be joining Liverpool soon.
The transfer fee, according to Tavolieri, is expected to be around €150m.
EXCL. Florian Wirtz one step away from Liverpool Football Club! While the German midfielder had previously informed Manchester City that he had chosen Bayern Munich… he and his entourage have just confirmed to #FCBayern and board members that he will be joining #LFC!… pic.twitter.com/X6ERjR49TF
