Back in the summer, we saw Lucas Moura living a big saga when leaving Tottenham Hotspur.
The attacker walked away from Spurs at the end of his contract, and after analysing his options, he returned to his former club São Paulo, where he had great months and helped them win their first Brazilian Cup title.
There’s now a big expectation on whether Moura is renewing his short deal with the Tricolour, and as journalist Jorge Nicola brings an update on the situation, there are some very interesting claims about the alternatives on the table.
According to the report, the former Tottenham player had the chance to return to England, as two clubs fro our shores made approaches ‘in the past few days’ for a winter move. The 31-year-old, however, rejected both of them.
Moura is actually likely to stay at São Paulo, as he’s said to be on ‘honeymoon’ with the club and has very advanced talks about signing a new contract.
This is a completely different scenario from the summer, when he was said to be prioritising a stay in Europe.
This suggests the English clubs who are trying him now should’ve probably made their attempts he was still in the process of leaving Tottenham.
