Goalkeeper Altay Bayindir has ‘said goodbye to Fenerbahce’ ahead of his proposed move to Manchester United.
That’s according to journalist Yağız Sabuncuoğlu, who says the player has taken yet another step towards completing his move to Old Trafford.
Manchester United are keen to add another goalkeeper to their squad this summer to provide competition to Andre Onana after David de Gea departed.
With Dean Henderson out injured, and also linked with a move away from the club, competition is needed and Bayindir appears to be the one that Erik ten Hag and his team have settled on.
A deal has been steadily progressing over the last week or so and it was reported yesterday that Manchester United were paying his release clause to get a deal done quickly.
That stated the player had already completed a medical ahead of the move, with it then reported today that a second medical in England had been planned and Manchester United had been chasing him for two months.
Yağız Sabuncuoğlu now follows that up and says the player has ‘said goodbye to Fenerbahce’ ahead of his move to Old Trafford.
The sentiment is very much that the move is in the final stages and he, as well as everyone else associated, expects it to be done soon.
