The fact that Everton decided to sack Frank Lampard when they did appears to have had a ripple effect on the transfers already in the process of being negotiated.
One of those was Moussa Dembélé, who was thinking about moving to Goodison Park in January, but the manager’s departure has changed things.
That appears to also be the case for Arnaut Danjuma, with Foot Mercato in France claiming that the 25-year-old, despite ‘visibly given his preference’ to the Toffees, is now ‘hesitating’ about moving.
That’s despite him having already ‘passed his medical visit’ for the transfer, meaning that this is a real last minute change of mind.
Whether that means the deal taking him to Everton is completely out of the window at this stage remains to be seen, but if he’s just hesitating, there could still be some chance of him still being convinced, perhaps depending on who replaces Lampard.
That being said, there has been talk of Tottenham lurking in the shadows to try and sign the winger from Villarreal, and with their Nicolo Zaniolo deal currently stalling, they might have decided to go for Danjuma instead.
