As Flamengo continue to be interested in the signing of Chelsea winger Robert Kenedy, the Brazilian side are still waiting for a response from the Blues regarding the transfer.
According to Extra, that’s the reason why the player has stayed in Rio de Janeiro instead of joining the Stamford Bridge squad for the pre-season.
It’s claimed that Kenedy’s agents believe that Chelsea will ‘evaluate other scenarios’ before they approve his loan to Flamengo for one year.
That’s why the Blues haven’t even discussed a price yet.
Flamengo, down their end, are asking for a free loan and would then negotiate to pay for part of his salary and would also like to have a buying option.
Flamengo officials have already confirmed their interest in signing Kenedy last week, even though they reckon that the transfer wouldn’t be easy to achieve.
The winger spent the last season on loan at La Liga side Granada, and his contract with Chelsea runs until 2024.
