Piotr Zielinski ‘is not convinced’ by West Ham and has ‘no desire at all’ to join them from Napoli this summer.
That’s according to Il Mattino and Sky Sports Italy, who say the midfielder simply isn’t interested in moving to the London Stadium.
The Polish midfielder has emerged as a target for West Ham over the last week, with them pushing for a deal after tying up Gianluca Scamacca.
Several bids have already been made to Napoli but the two sides are not close to an agreement as the Italian side are holding out for €40m.
West Ham also need to convince the player, and it has been stated they were hoping to do so with a tempting wage offer.
It seems, though, that is not enough, with Il Mattino and Sky both reporting that he isn’t interested in the transfer.
The newspaper, relayed by Napoli Magazine, reports that Zielinski ‘is not sure’ if he will accept the proposal that West Ham have made to him.
According to their information, he is ‘not convinced’ by the offer from the Hammers and is stalling on the potential deal.
This is backed up by Sky, relayed by TuttoNapoli, who say he ‘seems to have no desire at all’ to join West Ham this summer.
Napoli Today, meanwhile, throw their information into the mix as well and say that the Polish international ‘seemed destined’ for West Ham but they have ‘apparently failed to convince’ him of the move.
They theorise that the player might be a target for another club who he considers ‘more interesting’, hence his reluctance.
That’s pure speculation on their part but it would make sense and it seems the Hammers might be better advised spending their money elsewhere this summer.
