Earlier on Monday, we covered a couple of reports claiming that Lucas Digne could very well be on his way to OGC Nice.
However, they was a caveat in this, as it was claimed that Aston Villa wanted to sign a replacement first, although that will not be Marcos Acuña, as the talks to for the Argentine are said to have broken down.
Well, Nice-Matin in France suggest that might not even be needed, as the French newspaper claim the 4-0 win over Everton ‘should be his final game’ of the season in England, according to their information.
It’s stated that Nice are ‘very close’ to finding an agreement with Aston Villa for the 30-year-old on a loan with an option to buy, and Digne could be in the south of France ‘at the start of this week’ and therefore available to face Lyon next Sunday.
Some of this is backed up by Fabrice Hawkins for RMC Sport, who took to Twitter to make it clear that the player ‘wants to sign’ for the Ligue 1 club.
In fact, ‘all parties are confident’ a deal can go through, and some added information on the RMC Sport website explains that they are currently trying to ‘reach an agreement’ on who pays what when it comes to the player’s wages.
