Despite all the confidence shown by the Portuguese media regarding Sporting’s effort to sign Zeno Debast from Anderlecht, it seems West Ham may still have a chance in this race.
A fresh update from Belgian journalist Sacha Tavolieri now claims there’s still no agreement for the player to join the Lions.
It’s stated that Sporting are still to find a personal deal with Debast himself, while the talks with Anderlecht are also ongoing.
That surely gives West Ham a chance to win that battle, especially because it doesn’t sound like the Hammers would need a huge effort to get the signing done.
Reports from the Portuguese media have been claiming that Sporting are only set to pay €16m for the transfer, as the fact that his contract with Anderlecht expires next year puts the Belgian side under pressure.
Now it remains to be seen if the lack of a personal agreement between the Lions and the players is something planned by his entourage to give other clubs a chance to step in. In case West Ham are watching, that sounds like a perfect scenario.
