Alex Kral joined West Ham United at the end of the summer transfer window, with the 23-year-old moving on loan from Spartak Moscow.
The agreement between the Hammers and the Russian club had a purchase option, which would become an obligation related to conditions, yet it’s now not thought likely that will be used.
That isn’t due to the sanction situation between the two countries but more because Kral has hardly been used by David Moyes’ side this season, and therefore it wouldn’t make much sense for either the player or club to want to continue together.
A return to Russia is also thought to be unlikely for Kral at this moment, and he’d be looking for another option instead of returning to his parent club, where he has a deal lasting until June 2024.
Luckily for Kral, FootMercato report there’s interest from Montpellier in Ligue 1, who could offer him the chance of a new experience.
Therefore, with the Hammers and Russia near ruled out, Kral could leave ‘in a few months’ for France instead.
