Fenerbahçe have set their sights on Manchester United’s Donny van de Beek, according to A Spor.
The Yellow Canaries are looking to sign a player who can operate in several positions in midfield, to please manager İsmail Kartal, and the 26-year-old fits the bill.
It’s claimed Fenerbahçe are showing interest in the Manchester United midfielder and with the Turkish window closing on September 15th, they have until then to try and secure his services.
Luckily for the Istanbul club, the report states the former Ajax man is ‘looking forward to leaving’ Erik ten Hag’s side.
If Van de Beek manages to make a switch to Fenerbahçe, he won’t be eligible to play in the Europa Conference League group stage as the deadline to submit the squad was Monday.
The Dutchman, who hasn’t yet made an appearance for Manchester United this season, will have to settle for a substitute role if he fails to get a move away from Old Trafford.
Akşam also point out Fenerbahçe are looking at Van de Beek and that he’s open to leaving the Red Devils.
It’s to be noted that despite the story building in Turkey and getting wide coverage, nobody appears keen to take ultimate responsibility or credit for it.
