Tottenham and Chelsea interest in Marcelo Brozovic is still one of the most reported topics of the week in Italy and beyond.
This time, it’s Merca Futbol who are claiming that the English clubs are keeping an eye on the player’s difficult situation at Inter Milan, as he isn’t being selected for the club’s match-day squads.
The website says that Brozovic would be keen on a move to the Premier League, as he’d like to give it a shot ‘in a club with bigger short-term sporting aspirations’ such as Tottenham or Chelsea.
Despite these affirmations about the player’s desire, there’s nothing really new in Merca Futbol’s story. It more looks like they’re exploring what’s been said about the player in the past few days… and of course Brozovic would like to play for Tottenham or Chelsea, many players would.
A few days ago, the outlet were the ones to reawaken the good old Benzema to Arsenal story, saying the striker was still Arsene Wenger’s dream. They said the manager would be prepared to spend up to €47m on the player, but due to many other reasons, there’s no way Real Madrid would sell.
Not that Wenger won’t like Benzema, but just like Brozovic’s story, they are articles which lead to nowhere. Leaving Inter for Tottenham or Chelsea would be an option to be considered by any player, and that’s all they have to talk about the Croatian midfielder for now.
That said, there could be a good opportunity to buy Brozovic in January for a reasonable fee, especially in peace doesn’t breakout between the midfielder and his manager Frank de Boer.
