On Monday, Foot Mercato stated Chelsea have submitted their first bid to sign Lyon’s Malo Gusto in the winter market.
Another report from the same website provides new updates on the developments around this case.
Foot Mercato state the right-back is ‘on the way to London’, and barring a huge turnaround he has a ‘very good chance’ of ending up at Chelsea in January.
With Graham Potter keen to have the player at his disposal, the English club’s leaders offered the defender a six-and-a-half-year deal. The Ligue 1 side, for their part, are open to negotiations.
If Lyon were to agree a deal with the Blues, their idea is to get Gusto back on loan until the end of this season. However, Chelsea are not in favour of this.
The fullback is not necessarily unhappy at the club, but the advances from Potter’s side are ‘difficult to repel’ for him.
