At the weekend, we covered claims that Manchester United are ahead in the race to sign Fiorentina’s Sofyan Amrabat. It was also stated the midfielder has held talks with Erik ten Hag over his potential arrival at Old Trafford.
Sportitalia have a report on the 26-year-old, which is titled: ‘Amrabat approaches Manchester United’.
Within the report, it’s stated his move to the Premier League is ‘very close’ and add there would be a ‘further development’ in the deal to take the player to the English club.
Manchester United have signed André Onana and Rasmus Højlund from Inter Milan and Fiorentina respectively. They are looking at Serie A again to bolster their midfield.
Although it’s said Amrabat’s move to England is ‘very close’, the website hasn’t mentioned anything concrete to back this up.
Alfredo Pedullà covered the report for Sportitalia and he took to his own website to give additional updates on this case.
He says the Morocco international ‘only wants’ Manchester United, which is why he turned down West Ham and didn’t consider offers from Saudi Arabia.
Fiorentina are open to selling Amrabat, who’s agreed a deal with Ten Hag’s side. They are now ‘waiting for Manchester United to advance’ to sign him and Pedullà says the Italian club believe there could be movements for the player’s exit this week.
