Very well connected Argentine journalist Cesar Luis Merlo reports Facundo Buonanotte ‘has already signed’ with Leicester City and will be playing for them as the Fixes return to the Premier League football this season.
Brighton & Hove Albion secured the 19-year-old from Rosario Central in January 2023, and there was quite a lot of hope attached to the move. That was partly due to what Buonanotte had already shown at Rosario Central, but also due to the Seagulls’ record in the market.
There was an assumption if Brighton were taking him to Europe then they knew what they were doing.
Unfortunately the youngster hasn’t been getting as many minutes as he may have hoped for, so there’s been multiple clubs looking to get a loan deal this summer.
Leicester City have win the race, and Buonanotte has has now signed his contract with them, so all that would appear to be missing is the two clubs announcing the loan transfer.
There’s no option to buy and the move is motivated by a need for more minutes.
