Viktor Gyökeres has ‘already given a yes’ to Andrea Berta and is keen to join Arsenal as soon as possible.
That’s according to Correio da Manhã, who report that Gyökeres likes the project that has been presented to him and is keen to get a deal over the line.
According to their information, new Arsenal director of football Andrea Berta has played a ‘decisive role’ in convincing the Sporting Club de Portugal striker to move to the Emirates.
He chose to move for him over Matheus Cunha and Benjamin Sesko and is now pushing to get a deal done. Gyökeres was impressed by the ‘desire’ shown by Arsenal.
They still have to get a deal done with Sporting, and the Portuguese club only intend to announce any transfer from July onwards. That’s because it would allow them to place the sale in a new financial year.
Sporting’s directors expect to receive between €80-90m, with the possibility of Arsenal players being involved in the transaction still open.
Gyökeres is keen on the move, though, after being convinced by Berta, who has wasted no time in getting to work after being appointed at the Emirates.
