Thursday’s edition of Gazzetta dello Sport reports Nehuen Perez leaving Udinese and ‘heading towards’ London and West Ham this summer is a ‘concrete’ scenario.
The Hammers have been linked with multiple defenders in recent weeks, indeed they’ve been linked with far more players than most other Premier League clubs.
Many of those have been in South America, and whilst the Udinese player may not fit that bill, he is Argentine so we’re halfway there.
At the beginning of the week it was made known in Italy that West Ham were keen on Perez and had made contact to find out the conditions of a deal.
Then Tuesday’s edition of Gazzetta dello Sport said the price would be €20m.
Udinese are already looking for a replacement and it’s stated Matias Moreno, who plays for Belgrano in Argentina, is a serious option.
The Serie A side are unlikely to move for him until they know for certain what’s happening with 23-year-old Perez, so it’s over to West Ham for their next move now.
