Following the many stories we saw on Wednesday about Chelsea’s attempt to sign Angelo from Santos, things got a lot calmer in the Brazilian media.
It seems most of the local press is only waiting for the deal to be completely signed, and there haven’t been many updates since then.
The most interesting story we get to see today comes from Gazeta Esportiva, who brings all the details about the deal.
It’s claimed that Santos are indeed very close to selling Angelo to Chelsea for €15m. They say the Blues will pay the full amount at once.
The winger is then ‘expected to travel before this weekend’ to sign the contract with the Blues, and then be part of Mauricio Pochettino’s squad for the pre-season.
Santos used to own only 70% of Angelo’s rights, while his staff had 30%. Now there was an agreement for the club to keep 85% of the fee, with he and his entourage getting 15%.
It’s also confirmed that Barcelona shouldn’t get involved in the negotiation. They have a priority over the player, but are not expected to make their move.
